Geoff Platt wants to play for Belarus in Minsk

The Dinamo Minsk forward has played four seasons in Belarus and would be eligible to play the World Championship in his new home town if the gets a Belarusian passport.
The Canadian forward Geoff Platt who played for Canada in the 2003 U18 World Championship has now played for four years in Dinamo Minsk and is eligible to change national team to Belarus according the IIHF rules.
In a comment to the Belarusian site Pressball Platt says "It would be nice if all formalities connected with getting a passport finally could be solved so I can play for my new country. I've not received any information from the Belarusian ice hockey federation yet and can't really understand the situation".
Platt has been one of Dinamo Minsk's best players in the KHL with 140 points in 211 games.
