Donbass defeats SKA for their first loss of the season.
Donbass holds off SKA St. Petersburg to hand them their first defeat of the year. Yakutsenya scored two goals and Randy Robitaille continued his strong start to go up 3-0 early on SKA. However, SKA pulled back into the game, but gave up an empty net goal trying to take the game to extra periods.
Barys continued to have high offensively powered performances with a 7-2 victory over Avtomobilist. Nigel Dawes had a goal and Talgat Zhailuov added two in the blowout win. They are now the league's top and second leading scorer, respectively. With 40 goals on the season so far, Barys is averaging more than five goals per game on opponents.
KHL Medvescak and Dinamo Minsk both lost in yesterday's action to extend their losing streaks. Medvescak tied the game up with an empty net goal by Mathieu Carle in the waning minutes of the games. However, they could not stop an overtime goal and they are now winless in seven games. Minsk was never in their match and have now extended their losing streak to five games.
