Billy Bagron suspended for four games

The Dundee Stars have enjoyed a superb start to their 2013/14 EIHL campaign but have now been hit with a 4 game suspension for forward Billy Bagron.
Bagron was given a 5 + game penalty in the Stars 2 – 1 victory over Scottish rivals when at 12:15 into the game he was penalised for cross-checking.
The Flyers then requested it be reviewed by the EIHL Head of Discipline Moray Hanson.
Hanson then found the hit to checking from behind and the penalty was upgraded to a match penalty, which carries an automatic three game ban.
On the EIHLs official website, Moray Hanson stated
“I have reviews the incident and spoken to the match officials.
Under IIHF rule 532b, a player who injures an opponent as a result of checking from behind shall be assessed a match penalty.
Due to the very dangerous action which was unnecessary and was in a vulnerable position on the ice, which resulted in an injury to the Fife Flyers player, an extra match has been added”
Bagron is second in Stars point scoring this year with 16 points in 14 goals, including 5 goals and 11 assists and will not be able to ice for the Stars until they travel to Edinburgh on November 3rd.
