After an unsuccessful stint in the ECHL with the Alaska Aces, 22 year old forward Robert Farmer will return to the EIHL, signing a deal with the Nottingham Panthers.
Farmer made just 4 appearances for the Aces, failing to pick up any points but 7 penalty minutes, including one fight against Mark Lee of the San Francisco Bulls.
The Panthers pick up farmer ahead of their weekend visit to the Cardiff Devils where it is is expected the forward will make his Panthers debut.
At just 22 years old, Farmer already joins his fourth EIHL team, appearing for the Sheffield Steelers, Coventry Blaze and Braehead Clan before moving to North America for the second time in his young career.
In the 2010-11 season, he suited up just once for the Ottawa 67's after he was selected in the 2010 CHL Import Draft with the 44th pick in the first round by Ottawa.
He already has 203 EIHL games to his name, picking up 148 points and 348 penalty minutes and has solidified himself in the GB National Side, appearing in the last two World Championships for GB.
On the Panthers website, Coach Corey Neilson said
"This is a great pick-up for the club. He's big and strong and his time in North America won't have done him any harm. He's keen to get on the ice with us and help us, with two imports out through suspension tonight and on Saturday away in Cardiff it would have been a big boost for us if things had fallen into place as we all hoped, he could still be with us for the trip to Cardiff but it is hanging in the balance."
After winning the League, Playoffs and Knockout cup last year, the Panthers currently sit disappointingly in 6th place in the league and they take on the Edinburgh Capitals tonight as they look to climb up the standings.
