Latvian regular season finishes with HK Ozolnieki-MONARCH on top

The Latvian regular season, that was played in 32 rounds, ended today. HK Ozolnieki-MONARCH won the league 17 points ahead of the second team of Liepajas Metalurgs.
Eight of the nine teams of Latvijas Virsliga made it to the quarter finals. Only HK Ogre failed to qualify for the next stage. They ended up only two points behind HS Riga/LSPA as they lost the game between the two teams 5-3 last Friday.
HS Riga/LSPA will face the outstanding regular season winner HK Ozolnieki-MONARCH in the quarter finals. The other quarter final series will be played according to: Liepas Metalurgs II - HS Riga/Prizma, DHK Latgale - Elektrenu Energija-Orakulas and SMScredit.lv - Zemgale/JLSS.
Game one is played March 2, game 2 March 4 and if there is need for a third game it will be played on the 6th.
