SKA St. Petersburg close to the KHL quarter finals

SKA won 5-2 away to Spartak Moskva today to take a 3-0 lead in the 1/8 final series. Severstal, Riga and Minsk also won today.

SKA won again (
5-2) and is now in a 3-0 lead of the 1/8 final series against Spartak. Maxim Afinogenov scored twice in the third period to kill the game. Mattias Weinhandl, Petr Prucha and Anton But score the first three SKA goals. Slovaks Ivan Baranka and Stefan Ruzicka scored Spartak´s goals.

Atlant took the lead in the middle of the second period when Ivan Nepryaev managed to score shorthanded. Severstal had a strong third period and scored through Evgeny Ketov twice to win the game
2-1 and to take a 2-1 lead in the series.

4-1 to take a 2-1 lead over favourites Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. David Petrasek, Geoff Platt, Aleksandr Kulikov and Sergei Drozd score for the home team. Josef Vasicek scored the Lokomotiv goal.
