The Danes had secured the tournament already after four games since they had won the head-to-head games against the only two teams that could threaten their 12 points; Latvia and Belarus. Now the Danish U20 team got itself a ticket to next year's World Junior Championship in Toronto and Montreal.
Twelve of the Danish players still have the age to be able to participate in next WJC, including both goalies. Most of the players still play for Danish clubs in the domestic leauge. Sonny Hertzberg, Kristoffer Lauridsen, Mads Larsen and Mathias Asperup play for Swedish clubs while Oliver Bjorkstrand, Nikolaj Ehlers and the coach Olaf Eller's son Mads play in the Canadian junior leagues.
