SKA St. Petersburg first team to the KHL quarter finals

SKA St. Petersburg beat Spartak Moskva 4-3 today to win the series 4-0 and advance to the quarter finals. Salavat Yulaev Ufa and Ak Bars Kazan are also close to the next stage leading their series 3-0.

 
 
 
 
Spartak Moskva 3:4 SKA St. Petersburg
SKA wins the series in four straight games to be the first team qualified for the KHL quarter finals. Petr Prucha scored twice today and Mattias Weinhandl scored a goal again. He has scored in all 4 games. Maxim Sushinsky also scored for SKA in this 4-3 win. Spartak's goals were scored by Kirill Knyazev (2) and Stefan Ruzicka.

Dinamo Minsk 2:4 Lokomotiv Yaroslavl
Lokomotiv tied the series against Dinamo Minsk with today´s 4-2 win. Lokomotiv´s Alexander Kalyanin scored the first two goals of the game before Mikhail Stefanovich got his first goal of the playoffs taking Minsk closer. Andrei Kiryukhin and Karel Rachunek scored in the second period to take Lokomotiv to a 4-1 lead. Sergei Drozd got a goal for Minsk in the third period to finalize the scoring at 2-4.

Dinamo Riga 2:1 OT Dynamo Moskva
Riga moves to a 3-1 lead against Dynamo Moskva after the overtime win today. Krisjanis Redlihs got the game-winning 2-1 goal at 79:43. Dmitri Pestunov gave Moskva the lead in the first period but Girts Ankipans tied it in the third.

Severstal Cherepovets 1:8 Atlant Moscow Oblast
Atlant had an amazing first period in which the scored 5 goals against Severstal. Oleg Petrov got a hattick in 3 minutes. Atlant won the game 8-1 and tied the series at 2. Besides Petrov´s 3 goals, Fedor Fedorov scored 2.

Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk 3:2 Avangard Omsk
Neftekhimik won 3-2 against Omsk to take the 2-1 lead of the series. Niklas Persson and Renat Mamashev scored for Neftekhimik but both times Avangard tied it. First through Aleksandr Popov and then by Egor Averin. Neftekhimik still got the gamewinner when Libor Pivko scored his first goal of the playoffs at 37:53.

Barys Astana 1:6 Ak Bars Kazan
Ak Bars are close to the quarter finals. Today´s 6-1 win over Barys Astana gives them a 3-0 lead. Ak Bars hot goalie allowed his first goal of the series when he was beaten by Lukas Kaspar at 43:04. Alexei Morozov had 2 goals and 2 assists. Janne Pesonen, Danis Zaripov, Jarkko Immonen and Grigory Panin also scored for Ak Bars.

Sibir Novosibirsk 2:6 Salavat Yulayev Ufa
Also Salavat has a 3-0 lead. Today Sibir was beaten 6-2. Robert Nilsson scored 2 goals and an assist. Regular season scoring leader Alexander Radulov scored a goal and added 3 assists.

Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk 4:3 Metallurg Magnitogorsk
Yugra had a 3-0 lead after the first period against Magnitogorsk and managed to keep the lead till the end even if the gap closed to one at 32:31 when Sergei Fedorov scored 4-3. Alexei Pepelyaev, Andrei Sidyakin, Kirill Petrov and Mikhail Tyulyapkin scored for Yugra.
