Coach Pär Mårts announced an Olympic roster with a few surprises. Daniel Alfredsson is selected to play his fifth Olympic tournament.
Most surprising names on the roster are the only SHL player Jimmie Ericsson and veteran Henrik Tallinder. Some of the most notable players left outside the roster are Jonas Brodin, Viktor Hedman and Patric Hörnqvist. Alexander Edler is selected on the roster even if he will miss the first two games due to a suspension from the World Championship.
