Stavanger Oilers beat Asiago and now pinning hopes in Rouen
Four goals in the first period are enough for Stavanger Oilers to despatch Asiago and keep their hopes alive: if Rouen will win against champion Donbas or game will finish at shootouts, Norwegian team will come back with the plate. Anyhow Oilers finish today a very positive tournament and even now can be considered the first among "normal" teams. With back-up Henrik Holm in the cage, Stavanger scores the first two goals in 49 seconds around minute six with Juha-Pekka Loikas from the blue and MVP Dan Kissel. goals by Tommy Kristiansen and Jean-Michel Daoust, spaced out by a short-hand goal by Paul Zanette, sealed the first 20 minutes.
In the central period Sean Bentivoglio capitalizes a power play but Oilers reply with other three goals by Strandfeldt, Kissel and Daoust before a scoreless third period. Asiago goalie Vincenzo Marozzi was again awarded as MVP while his tyeam close competition with bronze medal.
