Herning wins Danish Cup

Blue Fox Herning beat SønderjyskE in today's final of Metal Cup.
5000 spectators came to the sold out SE Arena to see the home team SønderjyskE play Herning for the 22nd Danish Cup Trophy, It was a game between the first two placed teams in the league. SønderjyskE leads it and Herning is second.
The guests humiliated the home team. 5-0 was SønderjyskE's biggest loss so far in SE Arena.
Joachim Linnet was named Man of the match and it was he who opened the scoring 11 seconds before the end of the first period. Branislav Rehus doubled Herning's lead in the opening of the second period.
SønderjyskE pressured for a goal in the second period but Lasse Lassen got the 3-0 goal for the guests at 43:25. Then SønderjyskE's Søren Dau Mortensen got a double minor penalty for high sticking and Markus Jensen and Justin Maylan added power-play goals for 5-0.
Lubos Pisar in the winning net saved 29 shots for the shut-out and the win.
This was Herning's sixth cup title. Last time they won it was two years ago.
