Skellefteå continues to lose but still leads big. Team-by-team review of last week.

1 Skellefteå AIK (83)

Skellefteå lost both games this week and has now four straight losses. During those four last games they have only scored four goals. They still lead the league with a 12-point margin. In Tuesday's game in Luleå they lost 2-1 and Thursday's home game against MODO also ended with a 2-1 loss. MODO got an early 2-0 lead and even if Skellefteå outshot the guests 46-18 they couldn't get more than one goal.

2 Frölunda HC (71)

Frölunda got four out of six points during the week. On Tuesday's home game against Linköping they were down 3-1 in the third period but got a goal when they had a 2-man advantage and then Mathis Olimb tied it. After a scoreless overtime it was decided in the shoot-out. Mikael Vikstrand, Andreas Johnson and Sebastian Collberg all missed for Frölunda while Pär Arlbrandt scored for Linköping. On Friday Frölunda got a 3-1 win away to the new-comer Örebro. Alexander Wennberg and Joel Lundqvist scored for Frölunda in the second period. Örebro replied before the second intermission but Anton Axelsson made it 3-1 on a short-handed play at 52:33.

3 Luleå HF (69)

Luleå had two home games and won both with a one-goal margin. The new goalie Mark Owuya continues to impress. In the 2-1 win against the league leader Skellefteå he made 27 saves. In his five games he has five wins, two shut-outs and a .977 saves percentage. When Luleå beat Linköping 3-2 it was all about the Abbott brothers. Cam scored 1-0 and assisted to his brother Chris's 2-0 goal and also Daniel Mannberg's 3-1 goal. Chris Abbott also got an assist on Cam's goal.

4 Växjö Lakers HC (67)

Before this week Växjö had six wins in a row, but then came two losses. 1-3 to AIK and 4-5 to Leksand. The loss to AIK was quite surprising as AIK came there with eight straight losses. In the game against Leksand Cory Murphy scored three goals, but Växjö still lost.

5 Brynäs IF (64)

The two Brynäs games last week both were decided in the shootout. They lost 3-2 at home to Färjestad and won 5-4 away to HV71. Daniel Brodin got the winner. In the game against Färjestad Sebastian Enterfeldt was attacked by Shawn Belle and got a concussion. Belle got suspended for three games. Also Jesper Ollas was injured in that game. Since earlier Brynäs had Sebastian Lauritzen, Lukas Kilström, Simon Bertilsson, Petteri Nokelainen and Alexander Larsson on the injury list.

6 Färjestads BK (63)

Färjestad got five points from the week's two games. In the 3-2 shootout win against Färjestad Joakim Hillding was the big hero. He assisted to 0-1 and 0-2 and scored the deciding goal in the shoot-out. Hillding leads the league with four winning Game Winning Shots. On Saturday Färjestad beat AIK in Stockholm. Färjestad got an early 2-0 lead but AIK got back and tied it five minutes before the end. Martin Røymark still managed to secure three points for the guests with two late goals.

7 Leksands IF (61)

Leksand's new defenseman Hannu Pikkarainen assisted both goals in the 2-4 loss to HV 71 but was injured late in the game. Due to the hand injury he is expected to miss nine games. On Saturday Leksand earned an impressive 5-4 win away to Växjö. Fabian Brunnström had only scored three goals in the first 31 games, but added another three in this game. Jacob de la Rose and Jens Bergenström also scored.

8 MODO Hockey (60)

MODO won both games this week. Örebro took the lead at half the game but was in the end beaten 4-1. Per-Åge Skrøder, Niklas Nordgren, Edvin Hedberg and Simon Önerud got the MODO goals. Edvin Hedberg and Simon Önerud also scored two days later when Skellefteå was beaten 2-1 in Skellefteå Kraft Arena. MODO signed a new player during the week. Russian forward Kirill Kabanov joins on loan from Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

9 Linköpings HC (57)

Linköping has scored most goals in the league (135) but still struggles low in the standings. Pär Arlbrandt and goalie Christian Engstrand got them an important shoot-out win against Frölunda, but then followed a 3-2 loss to Luleå. Linköping announced that forward Joachim Nermark will be loaned out to Rögle of HockeyAllsvenskan for three games.

10 HV 71 (54)

The hottest player in Jönköping right now is the Swiss 17-years old forward Kevin Fiala. He has played four games after the World Juniors and scored two goals and four assists. In the 4-2 win away to Leksand he got the game winning goal and in the 5-4 shoot-out loss to Brynäs he got a goal and three assists.

11 Örebro HK (44)

Emil Kåberg was injured in Friday's 3-1 loss to Frölunda and may miss the rest of the regular season. Örebro also lost to MODO 4-1 on Wednesday and are now ten points from a playoff spot.

12 AIK (42)

After eight losses in a row Mattias Janmark-Nylén, Christian Sandberg and Fredrik Hynning scored in Thursday's 3-1 win against Växjö. But on Saturday AIK lost again, 2-4 to Färjestad, and a place in the playoffs is far away. There are also problems off the ice - as only three of the players have a contract for next season AIK risks to lose a bunch of key players during the summer.
