Swedish forward to miss men's ice hockey competition
Henrik Zetterberg will miss the remainder of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games because of injury, the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation announced on Friday.
Zetterberg has a herniated disc. He plays for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League and missed most of January with a leg injury. He returned to the line-up a couple of days before he left for Sochi.
Zetterberg played in Sweden's opening game of the men's ice hockey tournament on Wednesday but missed the team practice on Thursday because he was being treated at the athletes village.
His loss is a blow for the Swedes, who began the tournament without Henrik Sedin and Johan Franzen, both also injured.
