With one ridiculous shot percentage, the Sean Simpson's team are out
Switzerland 1 Latvia 3
Before the tournament started this was suppose to be the best Switzerland team ever play the game. But the Sean Simpson's boys weren't able to meet the high expectations from the Swiss fans and media.
After the two goals from Latvia in first period, Swiss tried to take over the game but was never successful and Latvian goalie Edgars Masalskis has in first game stopped everything. After an assist by Reto Suri, Martin Plüss give Switzerland some hope but defense from the opponent controlled the game until the end, and whit an empty net Darzins did the final result.
Like the previous games the Swiss lack consistency and accuracy on offensive aspects. The biggest disappointments were Damien Brunner, Roman Wick, and Andreas Ambühl. The three players live the tournament without a single point.
Whit this win Latvia is sure to have the best result ever in Olympic games, beating the ninth place of 2002 at Salt Lake City.
In Latvia side mention to 41-year-old captain Ozolinsh who was member of the Soviet team that won the gold medal in 1992 World Junior Championship... retired from hockey, come back to help his country to qualify to Olympics.
