Nicklas Bäckström failed a doping test at the Sochi Games, testing positive for a substance found in an anti asthma medication, a spokesman for the country's Olympic Committee said Sunday. Bäckström appeared in official line-ups but didn't skate in warm-up, replaced by Henrik Tallinder.
"I got the message 2 hours before the game that something was wrong," said Sweden coach Pär Mårts at the press-conference after the game.
The failed test won't affect Sweden's silver medal.
