Linköping turns 0-4 to 5-4 and sends MODO out of the playoff. Leksand and HV71 will play decisive game tomorrow.
After a 4-0 win for Linköping in the first game it seemed like MODO was going for a big win in the second game when they also had a 4-0 lead after two goals in the first and two early in the second period.
But Linköping reduced the lead by Simon Hjalmarsson in the second period and took over the game and reduced the lead once again four minutes into the third. And an ugly check against the head by Richie Regehr on Sebastian Karlsson gave Linköping a ticket back into the game.
There was a lot of blood on the ice and Karlsson was sent to hospital while Richie Regehr was given a 5 + game penalty and probably has a long suspension coming up. Linköping took advantage and scored two goals within 14 seconds to tie the game (Sjögren and Rohdin) and almost scored the winner as well.
The game went to overtime were MODO had to score to stay in the playoff but Linköping scored another power play goal in the sudden death when Chad Kolarik deflected the puck pass into the net and sent MODO out of the playoff.
Leksand tied the series versus HV71 after winning 2-1 at home. HV71 who won the first game 4-2 also started the second one best and took the lead after a shot by Anssi Salmela who took some bounces before crossing the line.
HV71 was close to 2-0 but instead Patrick Hersley tied the game with one of many many power play goals from his stick this season. Johan Ryno assisted on the goal and in the third he made scored the game winner after some nice dekes and a quick shot.
The decisive game will be played at Leksand tomorrow to decided the last quarter final team.
