France upsets Canada

France 3 Canada 2 (SO) 

For that Team Canada didn't expect. Loosing against France wasn't certainly in David Tippet's plans. Even if the team presented at Minsk is totally different from the Olympic team. Is certainly very a young team (with names like Mackinnon, Monanhan or Leaf's defender Morgan Rielly) but in other way the talent is undeniable. And the 4-0 in Zürich last Tuesday against Swiss in the last preparation game is there to prove it.  

Today against France things were different. We  have to write that this game was Canada learning how to play on a big ice, after a full season playing on a small ice. David Tippet opted for an NHL style, very tight in neutral zone and that for France it was like put a fish in the water, specially for former NHL goalie Cristobal Huet (34 saves). In the end we have also to give big kudos for France because they are showing improvements in the last few years. When you play them now you certainly not gonna crush them. Final note: last year (day by day) France also defeated Russia in the WC.
