Haugen shuts out Italy

Norway got a great start of the World Championship winning the key game against Italy. Lars Haugen in the net only had to make 15 saves to earn the shutout.
Norway scored one goal in each of the three periods to get an important 3-0 win over Italy.
Niklas Roest opened the scoring in the sixth minute. Morten Ask then doubled the lead in the middle of period two. The win was definitely secured when Anders Bastiansen made it 3-0 6:31 before the end.
"Now we got a good start. So we'll just march on," said Mathis Olimb who assisted to the third goal just after the game.
In the net Lars Haugen had a perfect record saving all 15 shots. "We knew this was a big game, so we were a little nervous going in," he said to IIHF.com. "But we get the first goal and plays a solid game after that".

The Norwegian defense was impeccable throughout the game leaving few scoring chances for the Italians.
Tomorrow Norway will play Denmark while Italy has a big game against France who beat Canada yesterday.
