Canada 6 Denmark 1

Drafted 10th overall in 2008, Cody Hodgson is six years later showing that he deserved that pick. And why so late for such a good prospect? Back problems were the main problem. When you are starting your career and you need ice time, that's not the ideal situation. Vancouver Canucks  didn't believe him and trade him in 2012 dead line to the Buffalo Sabres. In the next years he will be certainly one of the main pieces on the Sabres organisation.

The final result says 6-1, but after 20 minutes nothing indicated that would finish like that. In those first 20 minutes teams played an open game, in the most part of the period the neutral zone was nonexistent. Cody Hogdson open the score at minute 5:24 well assisted by Maple Leafs top scorer Nazem Kadri. The Denmark response came out from Nicklas Jensen at minute 9:06 .  Fun fact: Nicklas Jensen's father(Dan Jansen) was the first Danish player to score a goal in World Championships against... Canada! After 20 minutes Canada leaded 16-13 in shots.

The second part would be slightly different, Canada took care of things and dominated the entire period. Denmark goalie Patrick Galbraith showed up big in this period with 19 saves. Only Cody Hogdson(what else?) arrived to score in this period after one individual play.

And then came the third period. If Cody Hogdson wasn't already enough for team Denmark, Philadelphia Flyer Matt Read made it in an nightmare in only three minutes into the third period. The first goal came out at 41:15 after a great job by Ottawa Senators Kyle Turris. When Denmark was in a power-play situation, in shorthanded goal Read would kill all hopes. After the fourth goal the game was over. For the stats Jonathan Huberdeau made the fifth and Hogdson with the third goal of the game made the sixth. 46-30 for Canada in shots.

Canada is now in good position to discuss the first place in group A with team Sweden, and Denmark still have all cards in their hands to escape in relegation.
