Switzerland smashes Kazakhstan
"The relegation game" it wasn't really one, Switzerland never was in danger
Group B
Switzerland 6 Kazakhstan 2
The game that could put Swiss in real danger in this World Championship, it wasn't really one. Swiss had all game controlled and was never in danger. Special situations(Power-Play and Box-play) gave Swiss five goals. The first goal of the game came out in a shorthanded goal by Dean Kukan with a nice backhand after a nice save by Reto Berra. Before the period ends Swiss would score the second in a power-play situation by Denis Hollenstein assisted by Mathias Seger.
In the second period the power-play festival continued, first by Yanick Weber assisted by Swiss star Roman Josi, and then by Andreas Ambühl well assisted by Denis Hollenstein.
The third period served to control the game by Swiss team and to see some Reto Berra action with nice saves in shots from Nikolai Antropov and Roman Starchenko. The fifth goal for Swiss was scored by Lunca Cunti in power-play(what else?) assisted by Nashville Predators Roman Josi and Simon Moser. The sixth goal was scored by Eric Blum assisted by Luca Cunti. The game was "over" but sill time for the two honor goals for Kazakhstan, first by Krasnoslobotsev assisted by Kevin Dallmann and the second goal scored by Yevgeni Rymarev assisted by Krasnoslobotsev.
With this loss Kazakhstan is relegated and Switzerland still hopes for a miracle to happen... win the last game and hope that two of five teams that are still in discussion for a place in quarter-finals lose both sixth and seventh game...
