Biel, Lugano and Ambri with a good start. Sprunger with an Hattrick.
Biel 5-2 Lausanne
For the first game of the season Biel wanted to show a different face then last year. And they done it. Lead and motivated by top swedish players Pär Arlbrant and Niklas Olausson showed a face unseen before. The quality presented on the ice had some similarities with the lock-out version when the Biel's team had Tyler Seguin and Patrick Kane in the locker room. Precision and skating in the neutral zone were the biggest asset to Biel in the first 20 minutes. The domination was so clear that Olausson(twice), Arlbrandt, Wellinger and Herburger missed to score before the tenth first minutes. And came a power-play for Biel. With three expert players Olausson, Arlbrandt and Umicevic in the team and a bigger blue-line you can only see good things from kind of players. So, first goal of the game came out almost naturally way. Olausson discovered Arlbrandt, and the small winger with a one-timer didn't miss to score. We gonna see a lot of plays like these this year between those two. The second goal was scored four minutes later by Kamber well assisted by Raphael Herburger.
Lausanne wanted to forget the bad first period and came strong wanted to change things in the game. And 19 seconds later Ossi Louhivaara assist Hytönen for the first goal from Lausanne. Biel didn't shake up and in the second power-play of the game score the second goal. This time Untersander with great solo didn't miss the target. The goal would be fatal for Lausanne. 17 seconds later Biel's captain Mathieu Tschantré score the fourth for the home team. The game was done. Spylo scored the the fifth for Biel making a comfortable advantage in the game.
For the third period Lausanne's coach Heinz Ehlers changed the goalie. Caminada stay in the bench and former NHL Cristobal Huet was now between the pipes. The change was was good for guest team. Lausanne win this period with a goal scored by Finnish player Harry Pesonen. And we have a feeling that will not be his last goal in Swiss league. He definitely knows how to score goal. A great asset for this year's Lausanne.
Ambri 4-3 Bern (SO)
A lots of expectations around this years Bern version. Guy Boucher promise a new Bern and after the last year failure the team from the capital can only do better. On the paper yes. And in the reality? We will see. Change take's time. They have the potential but for now they are just a big experimental test. One of those tests is the captain. The 'C' will change every month. Guy Boucher want to find leaders in the locker room. Against a very energetic team like Ambri, Bern passed by all situations. The good and bad were present at Valascia.
Lugano 3-1 Lakers
Stability is the key word for Lugano this season. The historical team seems to have learn about the mistakes from the pass. This year they want to play a major role in the Swiss League. Against the Lakers, Lugano showed the potential, but they can be even better when the power-play start to work. Klasen, Pettersson and Filpula will be great assets for Lugano.
Fribourg 4-3 Zürich Lions
After last Wednesday victory against the Lakers, the defending champions had a difficult trip to Fribourg's house. It was game with a lots of emotion and the figure of the game was Swiss star Julien Sprunger with an hattrick. Zürich dominated the game specially in the second period and until minute 57 they had a 3-2 advantage. It was without counting with Julien Sprunger later goals. Proving that everybody can beat everybody in this league. The regular season winner will end up to loosing about fifteen times in fifty games.
