Macedonian team won the weekend tournament against teams from Bulgaria, Serbia and Greece
HK Metalurg Skopje has won the Skopje Ice Festival 2014 tournament.
Iraklis HC Thessaloniki from Greece was the first opponent for Skopje and the Pirates won the game 16:1. The second semifinal game was played between HK Spartak Subotica from Serbia and HC Red Star Sofia from Bulgaria. Spartak took the victory with a 7:3 win.
On Sunday the final games followed, first for the 3rd place between HC Red Star Sofia and Iraklis HC Thessaloniki, which the bulgarians won with 11:0.
The last game of the tournament was a real ice hockey highlight in Skopjes Boris Trajkovski Ice Arena. Spartak and Metalurg faced for the final game and Spartak took early the lead till the last minutes of the third period. Metalurg had several times one or more players in the penalty box but was able to turn the 2:4 lead of Spartak in a 5:4 win within the last two minutes. Man of the match was Jure Vnuk scoring four goals for Metalurg.
