Luleå and Skellefteå to semi final
20 Mar 2011 | Fredrik Pålsson
Both Luleå and Skellefteå won the quarter finals in game seven and will meet in semi final.
Djurgården had the chance to be the first team ever in Sweden to come back from 0-3 in a best of seven series. And they were very close to pull it off as the youngster Mika Zibanejad scored 3-2 with only six minutes left to play. But on a power play with an extra attacker on the ice Luleå tied the game 58:05 when Simon Hjalmarsson blueline shot found the net. And in overtime the unusual goal scorer Robin Jonsson scored the winner with another shot from the blueline.
Skellefteå dominated the first period heavily against Linköping and had 19-3 shots but only 2-1 in goals. And when both teams scored one goals each in the second period Linköping was still close when the third started. They created some chances but Andreas Hadelöv made some important saves and took Skellefteå to the semi finals.
In the semi finals Luleå and Skellefteå will play in a northern east coast derby while the sensation AIK will play Färjestad.
