Voracek and Erat behind Czech win against Finland
NHLers Jakub Voracek and Martin Erat were very much the men behind Czech Republic's 4-1 win over Finland in Euro Hockey Tour.
Jakub Voracek of Philadelphia Flyers set up three of the four Czech goals against Finland in Znojmo. Martin Erat (picture) of Arizona Coyotes got a goal and an assist.
The Czechs performed very well in today's win but it was Finland who scored the early leading goal. Aleksandr Barkov picked up a rebound and could easily score after only 34 seconds of play when Alexander Salak in the Czech net was out of position.
Michal Vondrka had quit a bit of luck when he tied it. Voracek's shot hit Vondrka's skate and left Finnish goalie Atte Engren with no chance.
Seven minutes into the second period Martin Zatovic took the Czechs ahead when he managed to push the puck inte the net alone with two Finnish defenders in front of the net. Vladimir Sobotka, assisted by Martin Erat, made it 3-1 with a short-handed goal in the middle of the third period. Erat then scored the final goal for 4-1 from close range after a rebound from Engren.
