The cities of Astana and Kokshetau will host the national cup in August
The Kazakhstan Hockey Federation held the annual general meeting of clubs that adopted some changes of the rules of Kazakhstan legue 2015-16 and also approved the dates and venues of the Kazakhstan Cup that will held in the cities of Astana and Kokshetau from 22 to 30 August. As in the previous editions, the winner of ach group will play the final in a venue still to be determined.
The tournament will be the debut of new team Kulager Petropavlovsk, created this season after the inauguration of the new Ice Palace. On the other hand there no team from Temirtau after the disband of Atyrau due to financial difficulties even if Sary Arka Karaganda previously announced the moving of its farm team Berkut from Karaganda to Temirtau. Ust-Kamenogorsk farm team is now called SHKO after the end of cooperation with historic sponsor Kazzinc

New rules for Kazakhstan League
- In the 2015-2016 season playoffs quarterfinal series will be played at best-of-three in order to reduce the costs of clubs
- Bronze medal series will be cancelled: both teams have lost the semi-finals will be awarded the medal
