Lukko started the game with high pressure in the HIFK zone but the home team scored the first goal of the game when
Eetu Pöysti beat
Mika Noronen. Lukko tied the game 18 seconds before the end of the first period through
Otto Honkaheimo.
The second period saw only one goal when
Jerry Ahtola scored 2-1 for HIFK a minute before the end.
Jakub Petruzalek scored a beauty three minutes into the last period of regulation to tie the game.
The game-winning goal was scored by
Miikka Tuomainen at 101:49, a few seconds after HIFK had returned to full-strength after a penalty on Martti Järventie.
