In this short serie of articles, Eurohockey will be giving you a short presentation of the eight teams from SHL that will participate in 2015/16 CHL and first out is Djurgårdens IF.
Djurgårdens IF is the most winning team in Swedish Hockey and has won 16 championships. 2014/15 Djurgården lead by Hans Särkijärvi managed to get back in SHL after they've been relegated 2012. In CHL, it will be Djurgårdens second appearance and they certainly have the team to go deep in the tournament.
Last season, Djurgården ended up in 9th place and missed the playoffs as they were knocked out against Luleå HF in the playins. For upcoming season, Djurgården have recruited some great players, among them the Norwegian star Patrik Thoresen. Who will return to Djurgården where he played between 2003-2006.
Djurgården will be playing in Group B with Tappara Tampere (LIIGA) and EV Zug (NLA) and it's teams Djurgården haven't met in CHL yet. But we know one thing, Both Tappara and Zug are going to have a hard time coming to Johanneshovs Isstadion (Hovet).
