Bern happier in Biel

Biel 4 Bern 5 OT 

Besides the result it was an happy day for Biel yesterday. With the new arena Biel can now aspire to new targets in the Swiss league. The first official match in the brand new stadium opposed Biel to Bern. Bern couldn't wish for better calendar has they played the main rivals. And the beginning the game was perfect for the home team. In the first opportunity to score in power-play situation Biel opened the score with a slap by the rookie Dave Sutter assisted by Ahren Spylo. Biel couldn't wish for better start. But the team coached by Guy Boucher responded well in a power-play. Cory Conacher with a great slap tie the game. Before the first period was over Biel scored the second goal by the newcomer Marc Maurer assisted by Joggi. 

The third goal for the home team was scored soon in the second period in individual play by Matthias Rossi. Consequence of that goal Bern changed the goalie. Marco Buhrer give place to young goalie Janick Schwendener. Until the middle of the second period helped by the numerous penalty's Biel continued to dominate the game putting the Bern goalie in evidence. But Bern isn't the kind of team to give up the game that easy. With three minutes to go in the period Tristan Scherwey scored in shorthanded situation. But score wouldn't stop there in the second period, has Gaetan Haas with a individual play scored the fourth goal for home team. 

In the third period Bern came out strong and gave almost no chance in the last period justifying the contender position for the title this season. Was without surprise to see Bern scored the third goal in the game by Chuck Kobasew. The tie game came almost in the end in power-play situation by Justin Krueger after a great play between Moser and Pascal Berger. In overtime Bern was the happier team and one more time Justin Kruger score the game winning goal.        

Lausanne 3 Lugano 4 OT

Lausanne scored for twice in the first ten minutes giving them a hope to get three points against a contender in the league. But Lugano came out behind and by the end of second period was already in the leading score. Lausanne found forces to tie the game in the third period, but finally Lugano go home with the two points was in it overtime it a goal by ex Bern player Philippe Furrer. 

Fribourg 6 Kloten 3

Like Friday, Kloten started better by scoring already in the first minute. But that would be all in the game, has Fribourg scored four goals in row in the first period. Legend goalie Martin Gerber  live difficult days by allowing twelve goals in only two games.
