Langnau, Davos and Zug pick up points during third round in NLA
While Langnau managed to pick up their first win, the Kloten Flyers are still waiting for a point.
SC Langnau Tigers - Lausanne HC 3:1
Kevin Hecquefeuille opened the score in the 6th minute assisted by Clark
and DiDomenico for Langnau. It would take the Bernese another 10
minutes when Christopher DiDomenico scored his first goal of the
evening, this time Hecquefeuille gave the assist. Second period, 9
minutes played and once again it was DiDomenico who secured the win for
the home team. Gaetan Augsburgers late goal for Lausanne was just a
cosmetic change of numbers.
HC Lugano - HC Davos 3-4 OT
In this intense game, 4 out of 7 goals were scored by Swedish forwards,
but lets see how it all started. Linus Klasen's goal in the 4th minute
opened the score for Lugano but Samuel Walser in the 6th and 9th minute
put the guests ahead again. A goalless second period passed by, and
again it was Davos who scored the third goal in the 45th minute with
Marcus Paulsson as the scorer. But the host didn't want to give up the
points without a fight and so Fredrik Pettersson in the 49th minute shot
the 2nd goal for the bianco-neri. With only 2 and a half minutes left
in regulation, Damien Brunner gave his team the equalizer and at least
one point. Lugano's Tony Martensson was benched in the overtime, giving
Marcus Paulsson his second goal of the evening and the win for Davos.
EV Zug - Kloten Flyers 4:3
The Flyers were desperate to stop the negative spiral downwards. In
their first two games, goalie Gerber had conceived 13 goals which
weren't all his fault but he certainly wasn't the wall the team needs
right now. Compared to the lats two games, it was the opponent who
scored the opening goal of the evening. Josh Holden scored just 2
seconds before the siren went off for the first period in the Bosshard
Arena. Reto Suri in the 25th minute increased the score to 2:0. Finally
with 34 minutes played, the Flyer's Chad Kolarik put his team on the
board a first time but the Flyers didn't make their own life easier by
taking minor penalties again and again. Sandro Zangger scored the third
goal on a powerplay but Steve Kellenberger capitalized on a chance just 4
seconds before the end of the 2nd period. Holden had a good evening,
scoring his second goal in the 48th minute single-handedly. Mark Olver
brought back a bit of hope for the guests when he buried the puck in the
51st minute but once again 2 minor penalties slowed down the Flyers and
made it impossible to pick up their first point. With this loss, the
Flyers are now last in the NLA and are waiting for their first point of
the season.
