The Elite League Challenge Cup took centre stage this weekend. Beginning on Friday Belfast Giants beat the Edinburgh Capitals in a protracted overtime game: the actual result being determined a day later due to a confusion over overtime for this competition.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Gui Doucett scored the game winner, again in overtime, for Cardiff Devils as they beat Braehead Clan 5-4.

In the two remaining games, Bobby Chaumont scored the game winner for Dundee Stars as they defeated Braehead Clan and Coventry Blaze got their own shut out as they beat Nottingham Panthers 1-0.
