Nottingham signs Ling
Nottingham Panthers’ star forward from the Grand Slam winners of 2012-13 David Ling has signed for the rest of the current EIHL season, for Nottingham, and hopes to be back in the line-up in about a fortnight.
During that last season he
scored 35 goals and totalled 95 points in the league.
Last season the former NHLer
was called up for a weekend in the AHL at the age of forty showing he still has
the skills to play at the highest level. He had 41 points in 46 games in the
East Coast Hockey League last year.
He is a fans’ favourite
before he gets back to Nottingham after his
exploits helped the team lift the Grand Slam of the three main titles in
2012-13.
During that campaign the
veteran of nearly a hundred NHL
games and 536 AHL games was named Elite League Player of the Year, League
Forward of the Year, Elite League Highest Points Scorer (35 and 60 for 95
points in 57 games), Elite League First All Star team member and winner, of
course of the Challenge Cup, the Play-offs and the League title.
