Langnau takes Biel
Langnau puts Biel in a bad position. Fribourg keeps the good pace. Bern stronger at home.
Biel 2 Langnau 5
After four games without a win Biel needed three points. And Langnau was the ideal opponent to do so, as they aren't too strong when they play away. In the first powerplay of the game Biel opened the score with Mathias Rossi assisted by Tim Stapleton. But Langnau is a team that never gives up, and Kevin Hecqfeuille tied the game assisted by former Biel player Manuel Gossweiler. In a new powerplay situation Daniel Steiner profited of a rebound by Daniel Ciaccio to score. With 30 seconds to end the period came another goal in powerplay: this time, for the visiting team. Yannick Albrech scored assisted by French defenseman Kevin Hecqfeuille.
In the second period 30 seconds before the second period end Langnau topscorer Chris DiDomenico made a beautiful goal, putting Biel in a very bad position in the game. DiDomenico would score another beautiful goal. Biel was definitely in trouble. The fifth goal for visiting team was scored by Chiraev assisted by captain Lindemann. With those three points Lagnau shows that they aren't dead. Biel is for now in a bad position, with five losses in a row. Canadian Chris DiDomenico was the best player on ice.
Bern 3 Lugano 1
A lot of changes this week for the home team because of injuries. Kobasew and Andrew Ebbet could not give their contribute for a long time and to replace them coach Guy Boucher has now in the squad two former NHL players: Derek Roy and Sean Bergenheim.
The home team opened the score with Simon Moser assisted by the legend Martin Pluss. Bern scored also the second goal, one more time with the same protagonists, Moser assisted by Pluss. Lugano responded one minute later with the former Red Wing Damien Brunner assisted by Swedish star Tony Martenson. The third goal for Bern was scored by Bern's top scorer Cory Conacher assisted by Bodemann.
Fribourg 6 Zug 3
Tthe visiting team started better, with a powerplay goal by Josh Holden assisted by Swedish defenseman Daniel Sondell. But this year Fribourg seems to belong to another level and scored two quick goals, first by Greg Mauldin in a shorthanded situation and then thanks to former Edmonton Oilers Marc-Antoine Pouliot, assisted by Greg Mauldin. Fribourg rookie Yannick Rathgeb scored then the third goal.
Zug tied the game in the middle of the second period first with Lino Martschini and then with Nolam Diem assisted by Fabian Schnyder. It didn't take long for Fribourg to score again. This time was Greg Mauldin who scored during powerplay, assisted one more time by Pouliot. In the third period Salminen scored assisted by Bykov. The very same Bykov scored again on empty net setting the final score at 6-3. Fribourg is now even more firmly the leader of the league.
