The "Tiger Derby" ended up pretty well for the Bavarians, while Berlin falls again
After yesterday's action, the Straubing Tigers are again the leaders of the general classification in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. A strong 3-0 win against the Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers, which until that direct clash were themselves on top of the table, allowed the club from Lower Bavaria to get back to a leading position in the standings, while Berlin lost again 2-0 in Düsseldorf sliding back to the fourth place and Kölner Haie went up straight to the podium after having slaughtered Krefeld Pinguine 6-2.
A tired Ingolstadt side, which last Tuesday was knocked out from the CHL by Frölunda Indians, still not recovered from the blow suffered in Sweden, and was beaten 4-2 by Schwenninger, giving the latter the first victory of the season during regulation time.
Tomorrow would be an interesting matchday, with Nuremberg scheduled to host Munich in a usually really heated Franconian - Bavarian matchup, while Straubing will travel north to face Hamburg and the Eisbären Berlin will directly clash against Köln for a place up in the most important standings.
