New SKA without Nazarov, but with a new player
22 Oct 2015 | Stanislav Pisklakov
After the dismissal of Nazarov from the post as head coach of SKA Sankt-Peterburg and the appointment of Sergey Zubov as acting head coach SKA signed a full contract with Nikita Gusev from Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk (on October 20th).
Thanks to Nikita Gusev (he
played on the first line of Yugra), his last team Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk has had
a great opening of this KHL season. At this moment Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk holds
the 5th place of the Eastern Conference with 37 points.
Nikita Gusev played 23 games for
Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk and had 7 goals+7 assists (=14 points). His active
productive play at young age and also good hockey skills were the reasons why the
management of SKA wanted to see him at the team.
Today, on October 22th, Nikita
Gusev played his first game for SKA against Avtomobilist Ekaterinburg away. SKA
again lost 4-2, but for Nikita Gusev it was a good debut for SKA. He played in
the second line and eventually scored 2 assists.
Time will show very soon the
return of SKA back to the playoff spot of the Western conference thanks to the
game of Nikita Gusev or not.
