Good start for Team Sweden in Karjala Cup
Reigning Euro Hockey Tour champions Team Sweden made a good start in Karjala Cup as they defeated Team Czech Republic in tonights' game in Fjällräven Center, Örnsköldsvik, Sweden.
Team Sweden did what they was supposed to do in tonights' game in Karjala Cup against Team Czech Republic. It took only three minutes before Johan Fransson gave his team the lead. This was also the start of Sweden show.
Jimmy Ericsson increased the lead to 2-0 after 38 seconds, after he found the puck on a rebound. -"We started ok and created a lot," Ericsson said. The first period ended 2-0 in Swedens' favor.
In the second period, Sweden started a little waiting, but after Joel Lundqvist scored 3-0, Team Sweden got back in the game. 4-0 came on a rebound and that was how the period ended.
In the third period, Team Sweden gave Czech Republic a lesson in hockey. Though Czech Republic scored twice, Sweden never dropped the game and Joel Lundqvist scored his second goal of the night, which meant 6-2. And that was how the game ended.
Next up for Team Sweden is Team Russia on Saturday and for Team Czech Republic, Team Finland awaits.
