Iserlohn climbs the standings, Mannheim still on top
The club from northern Baden confirms itself as the strongest one in the league
After a slow start of the season, Mannheim is now the leading team of the DEL, and it does not seem to stop. Two wins against Hamburg and Ingolstadt respectively confirmed the Eagles as potential champions... again. At the second place we find now the Iserlohn Roosters, which are proving themselves as brilliant and effective outsiders on ice: their defeat in overtime against Schwenningen is not a problem, for now, as the 6-2 win against Straubing last Friday showed.
Another team in really good form is Nuremberg: the Ice Tigers slaughtered the Eisbären from Berlin 6-2, replying yesterday on home ice against Krefeld (6-3). Köln, Berlin and Augsburg complete the ranks to the playoffs, while Hamburg, Munich. Düsseldorf and Straubing are now in the middle part of the table, and should fight to earn a safe place up there. Straubing, despite an awesome start, seems now to struggle a bit, but the incredible roster they managed to assemble remains potentially explosive. Köln won both of its match-ups against Munich and Straubing respectively, anyways, and good signs are coming.
Krefeld is now at the bottom of the table, while Ingolstadt, still in terrible shape, managed to escape the last spot at least for this week thanks to a 4-2 win against the Schwenninger Wild Wings on Friday.
