Litvínov assistant coach resigns
The Czech champions are struggling, and a change is urgently needed
Ondřej Weissmann, the assistant coach of HC VERVA Litvínov, has resigned today from his post after the 1-4 defeat Energie Karlovy Vary inflicted them yesterday evening. The team, by now with a rather extensive losing streak, is ranked last in the league, despite being the defending champion, and now faces a serious danger of being relegated. To be fair, the roster has changed a lot after the victory in last season's finals, but still, being defeated that way by one of the weakest clubs in the league simply should not happen. Weissmann, a rather good player with two Czechoslovak titles won on the ice and an Extraliga conquered with Slavia Praga as trainer in 2003 (and also former assistant coach of the national team), will be substituted by Jiří Šlégr, himself already part of the coaching staff. Until now, Radím Rulik remains the head coach, while Robert Kysela mantains is post as general manager.
