Davos makes it easy during the first period; an important victory for Lausanne; Geneva keeps the winning streak going.
Biel 1 Davos 5
Davos started better with a tic-tac-toe between Corvi and Dino Wieser but Biel's goalie Simon Rytz authored a great save. At the 7th minute in a power-play situation Du Bois hit the posts. At this time Davos was already clearly the best team in the game. One minute later Setoguchi hit again the posts. Davos would finally score in a power-play situation thanks to former NHL star Daven Setoguchi, assisted by Sciaroni. The goal was more than justified. Before the end of the first period, Dario Simion scored after a bad rebound by Biel's goalie Simon Rytz. Time for another goal by the visiting team with Samuel Walser assisted by Simion. In the second period Biel did a little better, but not enough to put in danger Davos' defensive system. Davos' neutral zone was very well protected. On the other side, Biel's neutral zone was not. This is, actually, the main problem of the current season for Biel. The giveaways in the neutral zone have in fact cost so many points to the home team. The third period ended in the stats, with a goal for the home team by Par Arlbrandt and, again, two goals by former Biel player Marc Wieser for Davos. The crisis continues for Biel, which obtained just 5 victories in the 24 games played so far.
Lausanne 2 Kloten 1
The first goal of the game was scored by Mathias Bieber assisted by Chad Kolarik. Lausanne responded well in terms of individual play with Raph Stalder. The game winning goal was scored in third period by Finnish player Harri Pesonen assisted by Mieville. With this victory Lausanne gets closer to Kloten in the fight for a play-off spot.
Geneva 3 Zürich 1
Geneva is now a team in great shape. Yesterday the side coached by McSorley did a great performance against the leaders of the classification table, the Zürich Lions. Matt D'Agostini, Daniel Rubin and Tom Pyatt scored for Geneva and Mike Kunzle for Zürich. Geneva is on an eight game streak and Zürich still has a seven-point advantage to the second place.
