26th/27th December. EIHL round up
A total of over 16 thousand fans watched Sheffield Steelers and Nottingham Panthers share the points over the two games.
Sheffield gained the advantage on Saturday with a 2-1 victory in front of an
EIHL record crowd of over 9,000. Robert Dowd scored the GWG on the powerplay to
send the majority of the fans home happy.
However, on the second night Nottingham
raced to a 5-1 lead and even though Jason Hewitt scored a rare goal late on –
his 100th for Sheffield – it was too little too late for the men in
orange.
