HIFK to the finals of SM-Liiga for the first time in 12 years

HIFK Helsinki embarresed Lukko when game five was won 7-1. The series was won 4-1.

HIFK lost the first game of the series 2-3 in overtime but then followed four wins in a row and the series was won 4-1. The Helsinki team was the first to qualify for the finals.
The score after one period of the last game was 1-0 after a goal by Lennart Petrell. In the second period there was only one team on the ice. HIFK won the period 5-0. Mikael Granlund scored twice, then Juha-Pekka Hataja scored 4-0. Lennart Petrell added another two goals and with the score 6-0 after two periods the series was of course won.
Lukko got their goal at 47:54 when the young French forward Charles Bertrand scored, but two minutes later Kimmo Kuhta made it 7-1.
