Sweet Czech revenge
Two days after Czech Republic lost 2-7 to Sweden in Euro Hockey Tour in Znojmo they won 7-1 in the same arena.
Seven
different Czech scorers made sure that Wednesday’s loss to Sweden is forgotten.
Once again the Czechs dominated the opening of the game and after only 41
seconds of play Roman Cervenka beat Viktor Fasth who guarded the Swedish net,
just like two days ago. Fasth had to allow seven goals this night in Znojmo and
it was actually the first game this season in which the CSKA goalie allowed
more than three goals. Czech Republic had Pavel Francouz in the net and he was
only beaten once when Mikael Backlund scored for the Swedes. David Pastrnak,
who has spent a couple of seasons in Swedish leagues had scored 2-0 in the
first period.
Sweden
increased the speed in chase of an equalizer but instead Lukas Kaspar made it
3-1 at 34:37.
In the
third period the visitors took many penalties and Czech Republic could easily get
four more goals to win 7-1. Rasim Simek, Richard Jarusek, Michal Birner and
Robert Kousal all scored during the last ten minutes of the game.
Only one
game remains of the 2015/16 Euro Hockey Tour – tomorrow’s game Russia-Finland.
