Hungary is not a problem for Team USA
The Americans easily defeated the Magyars 5-1
Newly promoted Hungary is struggling to stay in the Top Division ever since the start of the tournament. Team USA was, thus, not an easy matchup for the Magyars, who got harshly beaten in St. Petersburg: still, the first quarter remained scoreless, with both teams trying to exploit their counterpart's weaknesses.
In the second period, the United States, began to roar, and scored three goals in succession: Nick Foligno, Vince Hinostroza and Dylan Larkin were the scorers, with Foligno scoring again at the start of the closing period. Connor Murphy shortly followed, and it took Hungary almost 58 minutes to reply, with a solitary goal by Istvan Sofron.
Team USA is thus now third in Group B's standings, after three wins and two defeats (against Canada and Finland, respectively): they will face Germany on Sunday, while Hungary will play against Belarus morning, for a sort of "last resort" game.
