NLA day 1

NLA day 1

Well deserved victory for Lausanne at Biel; The defending champions start well with only two foreign players; Big game at Zug;

Biel 1 Lausanne 2

On Biel's ice Lausanne was the better team tonight. Faster and with better scoring chances the visiting team deserved the first three points of the season. Jonas Hiller avoided the worst. Biel must do better if they want that play-off spot.

Fribourg 3 Geneva 2 (Overtime)

Fribourg dominated the first two periods and the home team gota two goal advantage in that period. Roman Cervenka was particularly good with his hockey sense. But Geneva is a tough team to beat. And with effort and dedication they managed to tie the game and get  one point. Mike Santorelli led the team with a goal and an assist. Captain Julien Sprunger scored the game wining goal in overtime for Fribourg.

Bern 6 Langnau 2

In Bern's derby the defending champions started the league in great style and only needed a little more than 13 minutes to close the game. And all this with two foreign players on the ice. Ryan Lasch still wasn't available. The new acquisition ex NHL'er Mark Arcobello led the team with a goal and three assists.

Ambri 2 Davos 3 (Overtime)

Cold start for Ambri in the first 10 minutes with two goals for the visiting team. But Ambri never gave up and puck by puck managed to tie the game in the third period by young defender Michael Fora. Marc Wieser won it for the visiting team in overtime.

Zug 4 Lugano 3

The big game of the night between two championship contenders. And it really was. The best players from both teams showed up - especially ex NHL Rafael Diaz and Lugano's magician Linus Klasen. And the winner was always uncertain. The game winning goal was scored by Lino Martschini when everyone expect an overtime.

Zurich 2 Kloten 3 (Shootout)

A derby is a derby and you never know what's going to happen even if the teams don't have the same quality this season. When everyone thought ZSC had the game, Vincent Praplan alone proved them wrong by scoring two goals and tying the game and scoring the winning shootout goal.
