Lausanne and Biel with style in the Seger night

13 Sep 2016 | Luis Lopes

Lausanne is the new leader; Biel really wants to forget last season; 1073 games for Mathias Seger;

Lausanne 5 Kloten 1

Coach Ratushny seems to have found the right pace for the team. In a game between teams with with two victories each his team was clearly better. If the first period ended with a tie, Lausanne scored twice in each of the second and third. Christobal Huet with 96.7% and an assist gave the example for the home team.

Bienne 6 Davos 2

Thanks to Jonas Hiller, Biel's team seems to have an defensive consistency. And Biel really need it for a play-offs spot. Fabien Sutter the new top scorer showed up in great shape with two goals and an assist. After a year to forget the Swiss center seems to finally show why Biel gave him a a three year contract. Tough night for young Davos goalie Gilles Senn. Every game serves to learn at this young age.

Zug 3 ZSC 2

1073. ZSC "C" Mathias Seger 38 years, 16 World Championships, 4 Olympic Games, 5 Swiss Leagues Winner, writes NLA history by doing the most number of games. Beating other Swiss Legend Ivo Ruthemann(1072). Sandro Zangger ex ZSC junior player lead Zug with two goals.

Bern 2 Ambri 1

Ex SHL(Frölunda) player Ryan Lasch is now a player for the defending champions Bern. Home fans had to wait only three minutes and sixteen seconds to see good he could be for the team with the first goal in the game. It was actually a tight game between the two teams. The two teams shot well the neutral zone. Bern ended happier with the result but Ambri show good things.

Geneva 3 Langnau 2

As we wrote here before the season started - Kay Schweri could be the next Noah Road and Damien Riat. The 19 years old prospect already gave good indications in the pre-season games playing with the foreign players. And tonight coach Chris McSorley wasn't afraid to give the young player an opportunity to shine in overtime (now 3 vs. 3).

Lugano 3 Fribourg 1

It was a tough game for the home team, but they finally came out winners against a very good Fribourg team. The first period was all Fribourg and only the Columbus Blue Jackets  goalie Elvis Merzlikins avoided the worst. In the beginning of the second period the visiting team had three chances more to score a second goal, unfortunately the puck didn't want to enter. And then there was a Lugano power-play. The best in the business. Sondell-Burgler-Klasen-Martensson-Brunner is a beauty to see if you are a Lugano fan. That goal calmed down the Fribourg players. In the third period the home team won the game with goals scored by work players(Walker, Ronchetti).  Showing that Lugano has more dept than the the top-6 players. And we know how important are those players in the play-offs.
