In just their first ever ice hockey game, Lebanon managed to beat Maghreb United by a score of 8-3.
Lebanon easily controlled the action, taking a 7-2 lead after two periods of action. The game was used as a friendly competition before their match against Haiti on April 23rd at the Raymond Bourque Arena in Saint-Laurent, Quebec.
Maghreb United was made up of players from Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, many who represented their nations at the first ever African Ice Hockey Cup last summer.
Lebanon's hockey team, featuring many players from Canada, formed back in 2014 but hadn't hit the ice for a competitive game until today. Their game against Haiti will be their first true challenge, with both teams making their international hockey debuts. Haiti will feature former NHLer Georges Laraque, who has been involved with Haiti's ball hockey team in the past.
