The last act of tournament will return to Belarusian capital for the second time
Despite rumours about Sheffield as city hosting the 2017-18 Continental Cup Superfinals, IIHF awarded the honour to Minsk, Belarus.
Belarus will host the last act of the 2nd European competition for the third time, after the editions of 2003-2004, hosted by Gomel, and 2010-2011, played in the main venue of the capital, the Minsk Arena, while the next edition will be played in the Chizovka Arena, built in 2013 for the 2014 World Championship. Minsk hosted also the semifinals group in 2006-2007, a group won by Yunost, then crowned champion at the Superfinals in Székesfehérvár a month later. Yunost won also the home edition of 2010-2011, by beating 4-3 Red Bulls Salzburg.
The tournament will be held from 12 to 14 January. Along with host Yunost Minsk and Sheffield Steelers, also Nomad Astana and Italian SV Renon/Ritten will battle for the plate
