Joey Martin reaches 100 goals in his Cardiff Devils career

On Saturday night as the Cardiff Devils fell 3 - 2 to the Guildford Flames, the Devils did have reason to celebrate as forward Joey Martin reached his 100th goal for Cardiff in his fourth season with the South Wales Club.

Since joining the side in the 2014/15 season, Martin has been a vital part in the Devils recent success, and with his 100th goal coming on the Devils first goal of the game against the Flames, he added to his point totals which have always been over a point-per-game average in his four-year EIHL career.

Martin has always been one of the teams top goalscorers since making his Cardiff Devils debut, and he's already close to matching his goal totals from last season with just under half a season to go.

The Devils fell in their game Saturday but Martin did manage to add two goals to his resume, marking his 100th and 101st goals.

Then with the Devils returning home the next night for a meeting with the Nottingham Panthers, Martin was at it again with his 102nd goal helping the team to a 5 - 2 victory.

Cardiff are currently in first place in the 12 team EIHL and with Martin on form with his team-leading 14 goals in the league, they'll continue their title defense when they face the Flames again on Sunday night, but that's not before they host Guildford on Wednesday in the second-leg of their Challenge Cup Quarter Final meeting with the teams tied at 3 as the Devils look to defend another trophy after a great 2016/17 season.
