Romania won promotion to Division 1A of the World Championship programme. After today's 3-1 win over Netherlands the success is complete.

Before the last day of the World Championship Division 1B in Tallinn, Estonia both Romania and Poland had 10 points. Both won their games, Poland against Japan and Romania against Netherlands. Poland had the better goal difference but because Romania won the game between the two teams they are ranked higher.

Today Gergo Biro and Attila Goga scored powerplay goals for a 2-0 lead. Levi Boer scored the Dutch goal at 37:26 - his first of the tournament. The tournament victory was secured at 58:16 when Balasz Peter scored an empty-netter for 3-1. The result also meant that Netherlands are relegated to Division 2A.

Poland knew before the game that the tournament win was lost but they still fought well to defeat Japan 7-4.

Ukraine scored twice in the second minute against Estonia in front of 3927 spectators in Tondiraba Ice Hall. They kept the lead for a long time but Estonia tied it in the third period and Robert Rooba scored the winner for the home team in overtime.
