For the past six years, the Tampa Bay Lightning has been among the National Hockey League’s best teams. With an impressive collection of talent and contracts, the team’s chance at winning the Stanley Cup does not come out of left field. Now that the NHL playoffs are in full swing, everybody is begging the question of if the Lightning will finally bring the Stanley Cup home.
The Set-Up for Success
Despite the team’s loss in the Conference Final and the numerous injuries two seasons ago, the Tampa Bay Lightning remains one of the NHL’s best teams. With almost 60 wins and only 14 losses last season, fans are hopeful and confident in the team’s success this year.
The chances of the Lightning winning the Stanley Cup are +175. We can’t tell how those odds are comparable to winning a hand on Betsafe live baccarat, but some of the remaining teams aside from the Lightning include Vegas Golden Knights, Dallas Stars, New York Islanders, Colorado Avalanche, Philadelphia Flyers, and Vancouver Canucks
This Tuesday night, the Tampa Bay Lightning will return to the ice to win against the New York Islanders and advance closer to winning the Stanley Cup. With the lightning’s 4-1 win over the Islanders on Sunday night, they’re in the lead for another great victory.
Everybody is beyond impressed with the Lightning’s success recently, given that their team captain Steven Stamkos has been out of the game due to an injury. The team has managed to triumph over their opponents, even with the significant loss of Stamkos.
Stamkos’ core injury had placed him in the hospital on March 2. He had surgery to repair the damage, but he was still away from his team and the game for quite some time.
Fortunately, it has been reported that the team captain has recently been skating with the rest of the team during their practice rounds. This is not to say he is entirely ready to hop back on the ice in a competitive matter, but skating with the team and participating in the warm-ups is a step in the right direction.
So, what does this mean for the future success of the team? The Lightning team has definitely been able to move players from skating to playing in the past pretty quickly. To see Stamos on the ice is a good sign, but to assume he’ll be able to participate in the Stanley Cup, which could happen in upcoming weeks, is a stretch. Fans aren’t ruling out the possibility, though, as Stamos has been active on the ice and seems to be recovering quickly.
If the Tampa Bay Lightning manages to bring home the Stanley Cup this year, it will be their first title since the 2003 hockey season. With the new additions to the roster since then, including Blake Coleman, Pat Maroon, Kevin Shattenkirk, and Barclay Goodrow, the odds are arguably better than they were back in the ‘03 season.
Lightning fans have little to worry about when it comes to their beloved team taking the win. Their overall performance this season has been astounding, even with the loss of Stamkos. The team’s success and total wins in previous seasons speak for itself.
With the Stanley Cup final approaching, the team should continue to practice and play as they’ve been doing, as they have been performing exceptionally well. Stamkos should continue to get on the ice, while fans all over are hoping he will be able to play in the final games.
Assuming no significant changes are made, the Lightning team is looking good when it comes to winning the Stanley Cup and finished this season out strong.
