After Kazakhstan, also Slovakia postpone indefinitely the start of Extraliga and all hockey competitions after government bans all mass event
Two days ago Kazakhstan Federation announced the start of domestic leagues will be postponed to October after a raise of Covid-19 cases in the country.
Today the Central Crisis Unity of Slovak government proposed no mass events, including sports, can take place in Slovakia. Exceptions will be given to events where the organizer can provide negative tests for coronavirus of all participants not older than 12 hours.
Since September, sports matches and competitions have been declared risky events with the so-called "superspreaders" of the coronvirus. Originally, from 1 September to 1 October, outdoor mass sports events with the participation of 1,000 or more spectators were banned. Indoor events for more than 500 people were not allowed. At the same time, it was recommended not to organize any mass events.
"We will ban mass events with certain exceptions, such as marriage, funeral, baptism, public authority meetings, or if the organizer of such an event ensures that all participants have a negative RT-PCR test not older than 12 hours and report the event to the regional authority. This measure affects sports, cultural, corporate and church events, "said Ján Mikas, Chief Hygienist of the Slovak Republic, after the meeting of the Central Crisis Unity.
The hockey season should have started on October 2nd.
